It’s big news when anyone has a hole-in-one at your club.

But at Cranbourne, in Melbourne’s south-east, they’re claiming what must be some sort of a record after three members scored aces in eight days – two of them in three days.

(L-R) Mark Hammerschlag, Peter Bywaters and Steven Leigh.

Steven Leigh and Mark Hammerschlag landed their gems on the third hole while Peter Bywaters aced the eighth.

Leigh and Bywaters did it in three days and Hammerschlag chimed in eight days later.

The third hole was playing 148 metres from the blue tees on both occasions.

Bywaters was playing the eighth from white tees at 138 metres.

His playing partner told staff afterwards the tee-shot “looked in all the way”.

Leigh faced a pin at the back middle of the green, while the flag was in the centre of the green for Hammerschlag

The eighth pin was back left when the hole was aced.

Both par-3s are well-bunkered and you need to hit a good shot to ace either of them – especially the eighth which is quite undulating.
