DESPITE the wet and wild weather conditions, more than 90 women travelled from Royal Perth, Lakelands and Floreat in the north, High Wycombe in the east and Collie in the south to play in Pinjarra Golf Club’s annual Ladies Charity Golf Day.

More than $2,600 was raised from competition entry fees, raffles and trade table golf novelties.

It was all for a good cause – Safe Woman Safe Family WA – a local not-for-profit organisation empowering women whose lives have been affected by family and domestic violence.

Safe Woman Safe Family WA CEO Tanya Langford was humbled and grateful of the generosity.

Many hands made light work at Pinjarra Golf Club’s ladies charity day.

“Wow, that is absolutely incredible,” she said.

“Thank you so much – that will be put to such very good use so on behalf of our board, our team and all the ladies our deepest appreciation.”

Raffles prizes were donated by Pinjarra GC ladies and wine from Robyn Clarke MLA.

A trade table sold items donated or made by the ladies from Pinjarra Golf Club. Novelties were also awarded for things like “shortest drive” and “closest to the pin”.

Community Bank Pinjarra and Swell Fine Food Catering provided sponsorship to assist with covering event running costs.

The winners, runners-up and third place holders all gave raving reviews about Pinjarra Golf Club and the charity day event.

“Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled twice due to Covid-19 before the event ran its course on a day better suited for ducks,” said Pinjarra GC general manager Tiffany Franklin.

“But it didn’t stop the positive words and enthusiasm that was buzzing during the event.”
