MORE than 160 players took part in the Nambour Ladies Golf Club’s annual Cancer Charity Day recently.
All proceeds ($2900) went to the Nambour General Hospital’s Cancer Unit.
Nambour ladies president Gail Campling said many players dressed in “cancer pink”, which added to the four-person ambrose fun day.
“There were raffles, auctions, prize for best dressed team, accurate drives and pin shots added to the excitement,” she said.
“Our talented greenkeeper, Andy Boswell, created the pink ribbon at the third hole to help us line up our most accurate drives.”
Steve Williams, Ken J. Markin, Adam Geary and Bill Geary returned the best nett score of 50.5 to win the event from Joe Ferrier, Sal Saffioti, Brendan O’Dea and Dave Ayres (50.87).
Angus Waters golfers Kina Hazell, S. Hazell, W. Hazell and L. Hazell won the mixed event with a score of 50.62.
There was even a best dressed prize which went to Peter Teagle, Warren Brummer, Dave Neisler and Scott Boshammer.
And Bob Huggard turned up dressed in his wife’s clothes just because he could.
