BY the time you read this April Fool’s Day will be safely out of the way and things will start to become much more
serious as LIV Golf League players, including as many as 13 major winners, prepare to showcase their talent at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide.
Yes, from April 21-23 it will be golf like you’ve never seen before – 12 teams, 48 players, 54 holes, no cuts and shotgun starts.
It’s going to be huge. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be loud.
Golf fans lucky enough to be there will witness 12 teams of world-class golfing legends including Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson going head-to-head in a high-stakes weekend of shotgun starts, great food, drink and interactive fun at the festival-style Fan Village – plus live music Après Golf by headline artists.
Of course, Aussie golf fans will be there cheering on the Ripper team led by Cameron Smith and supported by Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Jed Morgan.
And then there is the formidable Aces team of Dustin Johnson (captain), Patrick Reed, Pat Perez and Peter Uihlein.
“LIV Golf Adelaide will be a milestone tournament for our league and a can’t-miss event in South Australia,” said LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman.
“We’re eager to deliver our world-class field to a fanbase that deserves the best tournament experience the sport has to offer. We can’t wait to showcase our league to Australians. The Grange (Golf Club) will be buzzing with energy all weekend long.”
Even South Australian Premier, Peter Malinauskas, is excited.
“Excitement is building for LIV Golf Adelaide, which will see some of the biggest names in world golf,” he said.
Norman said LIV Golf had reinvigorated the professional game and laid the foundation for the sport’s future.
“The most popular sports in the world are team sports, and our league format has already begun to build connections with new audiences around the globe,” the Shark said.
“Major champions, current and future Hall of Famers, and up-and-coming stars are all committed to creating this new platform for world-class competition as the sport evolves for the next generation.”

The field of 48 represents 16 different nations, includes 18 Olympians, and has made 125 combined appearances in the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, with more than half of the league having competed in the biennial team events.
In total, LIV Golf League players have amassed 526 worldwide wins across multiple tours, and four players –Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer – have held the title of world number one.
