TEVEN Valley Golf Course nestled in the green rolling hills of the Ballina hinterland of northern NSW might be a small nine-hole facility but that doesn’t stop it dreaming big ideas … and scoring the occasional win.
Take the month of August, for example.
Golf NSW called upon Teven Valley GC to host the $50,000 NSW Open Regional Qualifier and they did a mighty job much to everyone’s delight including the tournament winner Matt Millar.
It was a feather in the cap for a club that has worked hard to improve and showcase its image ever since Craig ‘Popeye’ Parry redesigned the golf course to a high standard a few years ago.
“We are the only nine-hole venue to host the NSW Open Regional Qualifier,” the facility’s general manager James King said proudly.
“It took a big effort from everyone as we had to outsource a lot of it because we only have a small staff.”

King added Teven Valley GC would continue to enhance the facility for the benefit of members and visitors.
“We have some new hitting bays and we have doubled the size of the carpark,” he said.
Set in a peaceful and breathtaking valley among remnant rainforests meandering creeks, Teven Valley is a place where you’ll hear the occasional splash of a platypus.
It’s an easy walking golf course save for the 151m ninth hole which is a steep climb that ends with the reward of being able to relax and unwind in the comfortable clubhouse.
Teven Valley is a walking only course and costs $60 to play. Golfers can hire a pull buggy ($3) and they do have hire sets of clubs ($25).
The golf course isn’t overly long, but it succeeds very well and is a pleasant nine holes in a stunning setting on 1684 Eltham Road, Teven.
It’s perfect for golfers with limited time on their hands. Visit www.tevenvalleygolfcourse.com.au to find out more.
