According to Srixon’s GM, Brian Schielke, the new forged ZX Mk II irons are set to deliver longer distance, improved feel, increased control and greater consistency–all in the sleek form of a true player’s iron. The big tech story with the ZX 7 Mk II irons concerns the intricate PureFrame design whereby an 80%-thicker portion of 1020 carbon steel is forged into the body of the iron just behind the sweet spot. Srixon maintains that the result is the buttery-yet-solid feel that good players demand.
The remaining ZX Mk II irons also feature improved mainframe design in the form of the second generation of Srixon’s MainFrame technology whereby a variable-thickness pattern of grooves, channels and cavities is milled into the back of the iron faces to both maximize impact flexing and achieve more precise head-weighting.
These exciting new irons also feature progressive groove depths as well as Srixon’s Tour V.T. v-shaped sole and unique drag-lessening sole notches.
RRP: The ZX 7 MK II, ZX 5 Mk II and ZX 4 Mk II models retail for $239 (steel) and $269 (graphite). The ZX Mk II Utility Irons retail at $339 in steel and $369 in graphite.
