Hidden away in bushland, yet only 10 minutes from the iconic Hastings Street, Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort is one of Australia’s favourite tourism locations and a must play course on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.
Featuring spectacular scenery, manicured fairways and greens, scenic lakes, the native birds and animals, golfers playing Noosa Spring are also impressed by the warm welcome they always receive from course and resort staff.
Built with golfing pleasure in mind and regularly rated among the country’s top 100 layouts, the 18-hole golf course provides a delightful challenge for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Designed by golf architect Graham Papworth, the par-72, 6180m layout offers a test of a player’s golfing ability. Not particularly long, it requires accurate shot making with water coming into play on many of the holes, with sensible course management required to record a good score.
From the moment guests drive along the treelined avenue that offers tantalising glimpses of the fairways leading the Tuscan styled clubhouse, golfers will be aware they have arrived at somewhere special.
Friendly golf attendants will load clubs onto electric carts, while ensuring everything is in place as they direct you to the first tee, with a few words of advice thrown in at your request as to how best to play the course.
After the round is complete and as you relax in the clubhouse, gaze out over the golf course and gardens, staff will offer cold beverages and recommend a snack from the resort’s popular Relish restaurant.
The resort offers superb on-site accommodation – spacious self contained one and two bedroom apartments which overlook the first fairway, a renowned day spa, tennis courts and fitness centre, a popular bar and restaurant, and a well-stocked Golf Shop.
There are a range of stay and play packages, including two night’s accommodation with daily breakfast, plus 18 holes of golf per person including a motorised cart from just $593 twin share.
Casual green fees (for 18 holes) are $145, which includes an electric cart, with special offers available when booking online. A group of 12 or more golfers can play for $125, including a motorised cart, and there is a dedicated golf events coordinator to customise packages for larger groups. Special green fee rates are available for groups of more than 12.
In relation to locals – those who live on the Sunshine Coast from Caloundra to Gympie – can play on Tuesdays and for a limited time Sundays as well.
Noosa Springs, a 90-minute drive north of Brisbane, a one-stop shop for the social golfer or holidaymaker, is a tourism destination in its own right.
