Bayside City Council is inviting Expressions of Interest for an exciting opportunity to lease one of Melbourne’s premier public golf courses situated in the Bayside sandbelt.
A 20 year lease is being offered from 1 July, 2014 for the Sandringham Golf Course, located in Cheltenham Road, Cheltenham (Melway 86 C2).
Sandringham Golf Course has operated as a public course since 1964. It offers an eighteen holes, par 70 public golf course that presents a pleasant challenge for the golfer due to its variety of shot-making, bunkering, small greens and clever design.
Situated in the heart of Melbourne’s sandbelt, the course operates all year round and features a lake and 30 bunkers. Many of Melbourne’s leading amateurs and professionals are drawn to Sandringham by its special features and the value it offers players.
A major $840,000 investment in stormwater harvesting and reuse, undertaken at Sandringham Golf Course last year, improved the condition of the greens and the fairways as well as the visual appearance of the course in the drier summer periods.
The new harvesting process is supplying water at, or cheaper than, the current cost of drinking water, and the scheme is now harvesting 34 mega litres – replacing 10 mega litres of drinking water and 24 mega litres of water from other sources.
The Sandringham Golf Links is currently leased by Council to nearby Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
The course will be available for inspection at 11am on Monday 16 September, 2013.
The Expressions of Interest documentation is available on Council’s e-tendering website www.tenderlink.com/bayside. Enquiries should be directed to Leasing Coordinator, Sally Naughton on 9599 4444.
Expressions of interest submissions should be clearly market with the EOI name and number and must be submitted electronically via the website www.tenderlink.com/bayside.
Bayside City Council is not bound to accept the lowest or any EOI submission.
Expressions of interest must be lodged by 2pm on Friday 4 October, 2013.
