For the past 27 years, the Challenge organisation and the Yarra Yarra Golf Club have united forces to host one of the best corporate golf days in Australia. The Challenge Allenby Golf Day & Gala Dinner is one of the most engaging and beneficial golf events on the Australian golf calendar. Participants are presented the opportunity to test their game against a great course in the company of some of the best golfers that this country has ever produced. Golfers that have participated in the past include Ian Baker-Finch, Greg Chalmers, Aaron Baddeley, Stuart Appleby, Geoff Ogilvy, Challenge International Patron, Robert Allenby and Challenge Ambassador, Jarrod Lyle.
The 2018 edition of this event will be held on Monday 26 November which is the day immediately following the World Cup of Golf being held at the Metropolitan Golf Club. In 2016 Jarrod’s great mate Rickie Fowler was in town and dropped in to this event to say hello and sign autographs which organisers are hoping to emulate. This year’s event will be honouring Jarrod and the indelible mark he has left on the Australian golfing public, cancer fighters and their families worldwide.
The golf day has over 200 participants who are involved in two shotgun starts at the prestigious Yarra Yarra Golf Club where they put their golfing abilities to the test. Whilst doing battle on the renowned Sandbelt course, guests indulge in delicious food and drinks prior, during and after their round. The prize pool is legendary and includes the opportunity to win hole in one prizes on every par 3. There are two vehicles up for grabs and, as usual, a full set of Mizuno golf clubs for all four members of the winning team.
The occasion, however, does not finish here but runs into the evening where golfers and six of their friends are invited to a Gala Dinner held at Crown. Guests will be wined and dined and entertained by some of Australia’s best performers! There will be opportunities to purchase once-in-a-lifetime experiences that money truly cannot buy.
Without question, this event is an unforgettable one, lavished with exciting experiences! However, the best aspect of the day is that everyone is simultaneously honouring Jarrod and his mission to raise funds to make a difference to the lives of children and families living with cancer.
